Understanding the key terms used in LED technology
helps you make informed decisions and get the most

KEY TERMS OVERVIEW
CORE TERMS YOU SHOULD KNOW
Pixel
The smallest unit of an LED display. A group of LEDs that work together to display images and videos.
Brightness
The intensity of light emitted by the LED Display, measure in nits.
Higher brightness is ideal for outdoor visibility.
SMD
Surface-Mount Device. The type of LED packkage where the LED chips are mounted on the surface of the circuit board.
Contrast Ratio
The difference between the brightness white and the darkest black a display can produce. Higher ratio delivers better image depth.
Pixel Pitch
The distance between the center of two adjacent pixel. Measure in millimiters (mm). Smaller pitch means higher resolution.
Viewwing Angle
The maximum angle from which the display can be viewed with acceptable
image quality. Wider angle = better visibility.

image quality. Wider angle = better visibility.

Surface-Mount Device
SMD LEDs have the LED chips mounted directly on the surface of the circuit board. they are known for their wide viewing angles, vibrant color reproduction, and high reliability.
